About Us

In 2017, we came together as four freelance musicians who connected over a mutual love for the string quartet repertoire—and the joy of playing it together. Today, we are: Lindsey and Aja on violins, Kelsey on viola, and Rachel on cello.
Each of us is classically trained, holding advanced performance degrees in our instruments. Our roots are in classical music, but we thrive on versatility—finding new ways to share the sound of strings across genres and venues. We've had the pleasure of performing with artists like Michael Bublé, Lauryn Hill, Smokey Robinson, Sarah McLachlan, Michael Bolton, Ben Folds, Hanson, Wynton Marsalis, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Celtic Woman, 2CELLOS, Trampled by Turtles, Disturbed, Foreigner, Kygo, Audra McDonald, Gil Shaham, and Leila Josefowicz, and even played for President Obama's Inaugural Luncheon. You'll also find us collaborating with local Latin bands, bluegrass groups, Baroque ensembles, and everything in between.
We offer a wide-ranging and ever-growing repertoire—from timeless classical pieces to pop, rock, jazz, and beyond. We’re happy to take special requests and can work closely with you to curate the perfect playlist for your event—or, if you prefer, we can build a set around a genre or vibe, saving you time.

Why String Quartet?

Think of a choir with four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. A string quartet works the same way—four distinct voices blending in harmony, with two violins, a viola, and a cello. This setup allows for both rich, full harmonies and expressive melodies, much like your favorite rock, pop, or R&B group.
The string quartet has been a cornerstone of classical chamber music since the late 1700s, with an enormous repertoire written specifically for this configuration. These days, pop music stands right alongside Mozart in popularity, and the string quartet remains a go-to ensemble for reimagining contemporary songs. We take pride in creating many of our own custom arrangements—unique to us and not heard anywhere else.

In a digital world, we take pride in being analog. Anyone can pull up a song and hear the exact same version they've heard a million times. What makes experiences memorable is novelty—hearing or seeing something for the first time, or experiencing it in a new way. We believe the human component is what makes art art, and we hope you agree!
